INTRACAVITY LASER SPECTROSCOPY OF ELEMENTARY PROCESSES BASED ON A CW RING DYE LASER

Abstract
An improved version of an intracavity laser spectrometer based on a ring travelling wave dye laser is demonstrated, a rate constant measurement of the HNO + O2 reaction being used as an example. This spectrometer previously shown to have quantum noise limited sensitivity in absorption measurements permits studying slow chemical reactions at very low concentrations of active particles. Efficient algorithm of calculation concentrations of molecules in chemical reaction cell is also developed.
