Abstract
Photoacoustic techniques were used to analyze the emission of ethylene and photosynthetic oxygen, as function of time, in water stressed leaves of poplar (Populus alba). Oxygen evolution was measured using the OPC technique, with an electret microphone as the photoacoustic cell. Ethylene emission was measured using an intracavity photoacoustic cell inside a CO2 laser. The results obtained could be used in studies of stomatal closure dynamics or photosynthetic activity.
