Abstract
Using photoacoustic measurements, the relaxation processes have been studied in various gas mixtures. The analysis of rotational parameters shows strong buffer gas pressure dependence and different pressure regimes can be distinguished. In contrast, for vibrational to translational relaxation in the same gas mixture, pressure regimes cannot be distinguished. It was shown that the PA method can be used in investigation of relaxation parameters for detailed description of multiphoton processes in gas mixtures, especially for evaluation of bulk rotational relaxation cross-sections and times.
