Abstract
Interconnected Porous piezoelectric ceramics are
fabricated over the range of porosity going from 25 % to more than 95
% starting from sintering of PZT-glucose mixtures. For a large porosity The
ceramic has a cellular structure similar to that of a sponge. Porosity seems
not affected
, whereas dh and kt increases and kp decreases
with porosity. The presence of interconnected porosity in ceramics causes a
decoupling of the piezoelectric effects axial and radial for to privilege
the axial mode. For a large porosity the transducer vibrates exclusively
according to the axial. The polymer introduction into empty ceramics affects
negatively the dielectric and piezoelectric properties, the dielectric
losses increase whereas
decreases strongly for cellular ceramics.
