Abstract
This paper presents a shearing experiment of sheet metals in order to obtain experimental data at large strain and at high
strain rates. Previous studies in the domain were more focused at the shearing loading and cliterion aspect so that they looked
more at the smalt strain range. Our interest in this kind of test is in the large strain range so that the analysis of the
test may be quite different. For this plii-pose, the local measuremelit of strain field by means of the image corrélation
method is used to evaluate the strain homogeneity and deviation from the pure shear condition whcn thc nominat shear becomes
more and more important. Nnmencal simulations (under ls-dyna) are also made to study the stress state and its homogeneity
in large shear of sheet metals.
