Soft X-Ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism on Paramagnetic Systems: Orientation Effects in Divalent Ni

Abstract
We present ligand field atomic multiplet calculations to explore the arnsotropy of the MCD signal at t i e 2p transition metal edges of divalent nickel. For in a local D4h symmetry large effects are seea, resulting from a ligand field effect in Me absorption L2,3 edges. Mo orientation efiects are seea is Ni in Oh symmetry.
