The rapidly solidified Ti-Pd-Ni were made by the melt spinning method and the ribbon shaped specimens were obtained. The dimensions of these specimens were 30 μm in thickness and 2 mm in width. The surface structure along the direction of the length of specimens was observed by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. By the results of X-ray and electron diffraction, it was confirmed that these specimens had good crystallinity and preferred orientation. These specimens were transformed from the martensite phase (B19) to the parent phase (B2) by heating and from B2 to B19 by cooling. The transformation features and crystal structures were same as those of the specimen made by the ordinary method. The transformation temperatures decreased by rapid solidification.
