Laser generation and detection of SAW at the surface of PMMA

Abstract
The SAW velocity of PMMA as a function of temperature (25-75°C) and frequency (1.0-8.0MHz) is measured by the laser generation and detection technique. From the temperature dependence of the velocity two turning points are observed, one of which may be related to the β-transition of PMMA.
