Abstract
Experiments have been carried out at various scales on rockets using solid propellant. The results show that the granulometric characteristics of the jet have no influence on acoustic noise radiated. However, the total radiated acoustic power seems to increase slightly faster than the mass flow. The sound level differences resulting from this phenomenon are small but can be taken into account using the experimental law from ref. [4], when it comes to transpose results obtained at reduced scale to the real scale.
