Abstract
Preparation of porous copolymers of methacrylic acid
(MAA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) by suspension-emulsion and
bulk polymerization is presented. The influence of polymerization technique,
type and amount of porogen on the copolymer structure has been investigated.
The porous structure of MAA-EGDMA copolymers has been examined. Porous
structure was determined for all of the obtained copolymers. Chemical nature
of the copolymers surfaces was characterized by Fourier transform infrared
(FT-IR) and IR photoacoustic spectroscopy (FT-IR/PAS).
