An efficient femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser facility by using two stage amplifiers was developed based on the chirped pulse amplification technique. Output energy of higher than 1J was obtained under the pump of two commercial Nd:YAG lasers with the maximum energy of 1.4J at 532nm, corresponding to an efficiency of about 34%. After through a standard vacuum compressor with a grating pair, we obtained 640mJ laser energy at 10Hz repetition rates, the autocorrelation measurement showed the pulse duration of about 33 fs, which infer to a peak power of about 20 TW.
