This work presents the photoacoustic determination of the of heat generation for 1.064 m and 1.34 m laser emission in proton implanted Nd:YAG planar waveguide. For laser operation at 1.064 m and 1.34 m the experimental ratio of the heat generated for both luminescence regimes are 0.63 ± 0.03 and 1.00 ± 0.05, respectively. These values show good agreement with theoretical estimation also included in this work. The integrated device operating at 1.34 m presents a lower laser performance due to the weak heat evacuation observed under stimulated regime that would produce important changes in the refractive index. In contrast laser operation at 1.064 m could support high pump sources due to the strong heat reduction from spontaneous to stimulated luminescence regime.
