R.D. LorenzLunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona, 1629 E. University Bd., Tucson, AZ 85721-0092, USA
Abstract
The production of entropy and of mechanical work by
planetary atmospheres is discussed : some ideas in nonequilibrium
thermodynamics are introduced, notably the principle of Maximum Entropy
Production.
