Abstract
It is very important to understand, stress distribution and variation of stress due to applied displacement in toroidal cores in order to improve the sensitivity, accuracy and repeatability of the amorphous toroidal transducers. For this purpose a commercially available mechanical FEM package called PAFEC®, has been used to model stress distributions around the circumference of toroidal transducer cores, and the variation of the stress on the inner, middle and the outer surfaces of the Fe based as-cast amorphous ribbon toroidal transducer core were studied.
