Domain wall dynamics of yttrium orthoferrite

Abstract
Measurements of the domain wall (DW) velocity v versus magnetic field H in yttrium orthoferrite by means of a dark field method are reported. The nonlinear character of the subsound domain wall dynamics is confirmed by numerous sets of the measured v (H) dependencies. Results of the work are summarized by histograms showing how often a given value of the velocity appeared in the measured v (H) curves. More than 20 maxima in the velocity range 200-1100 m/s are seen at the histograms. An assumption is made that the nonlinearities may be due to the newly discovered lines of zero magnetization in orthoferrites.
