Abstract
Decay of amorphous alloys of metal-metalloid type from the initial state up to surface crystallization under thermal action has been studied for three different alloys based on Fe-Ni, Fe-Co and Fe-Ni-Co. Temperature dependences of their mechanical, magnetic, magneto-optical and heat properties have been investigated. Embrittlement is established as two stage process for all alloys under consideration. Nature of microscopic process determining the changes of the amorphous alloys macroscopic properties has been established from magnetic, magneto-optical and heat measurements. Experimental data obtained by above mentioned methods let us to argue the formation of new amorphous phase clusters in the embrittled layers.
