Abstract
The magnetostriction and the domain structure of grain oriented silicon steel sheets cut at various angles from rolling direction have been investigated. The relation between magnetostriction and magnetic domain structure was made clear for samples declined 30° from rolling direction. The magnetostriction change due to the change of magnetization is discussed based on the proposed magnetic domain structure model, which is conceived by the observation of surface magnetic domain configurations.
