Calculation of the output power of parabolic trough plants with the simulation environment INSEL

Abstract
INSEL provides an integrated simulation environment based on a block-diagram approach. Due to its flexible structure INSEL can easily be used for a wide range of simulation applications. It has been extended towards the simulation of the performance of the components of a parabolic trough plant including models for reflector, absorber, thermal storage, heat exchanger and steam turbine stage.
