Objective modeling of some elastoplastic materials with phase changes
S. Dachkovski and M. Böhm Abstract
To deal with thermal treatment (quenching e.g.) of
steels with phase changes in the frame of thermoplasticity we
suggest a rather general approach based on the isomorphy of the
generalized elastic ranges, which we call thermo-phase-elastic
ranges. Mass fractions are used as internal variables to describe
the evolution of phases. We do not use the concept of the
decomposition of strains, although it can be incorporated in our
framework. Restrictions due to the second law of thermodynamics
are discussed. The investigations presented here are part of a
special research project on distortion engineering (SFB 570 at the
University of Bremen).
