Abstract
The main features of a lagrangian approach are briefly introduced. Illustrations are given through numerical solutions concerning the case of kinematics endowed with the spherical symmetry. Several types of constitutive behaviours are taken into account, namely those of linear or nonlinear elasticity, of linear or nonlinear viscoelasticity, of plasticity and of viscoplasticity. In general, the strains, the strain rates and the rates of strain rate are ranging from .1 to 1, from 103 to 104 s-1 and from 108 to 1010 s-2, respectively.
