Abstract
The deterministic character of discrete time series is analyzed by means of a method developed by Grassberger and Procaccia. This technique allows to determine the dimension of the chaotic attractor as well as that of the embedding space. The method is generalized to the analysis of the chaotic behaviour associated simultaneously to two discrete time series. Applications to neurobiological data are presented.
