Abstract
Modelling of magnetisation characteristics of magnetic materials is of great importance for magnetic field computation in electromagnetic devices. In this paper, a new scalar static magnetic hysteresis model which is based on the non-equilibrium thermodynamics theory is presented. The model exhibits all the main features of ferromagnetism, such as nonlinearity, anhysteretic curve, first magnetisation curve, hysteresis loops and presence of minor loops.
