New potentials for the laser crystals with second and third optical nonlinearities

Abstract
Some new ideas for achieving stimulated-emission generation in laser crystals doped with Ln3+ ions are proposed. They are based on a pumping involving second garmonic generation and stimulated-Raman scattering phenomena. These ideas have been implemented experimentally.
