The energy dissipation/dissipation rate of the rheological materials filled with rigid particles is studied in this paper. The viscous dissipation induced by the constitutive viscosity of matrix across the wave front of incident compressive wave or reflective tensile wave, and the energy dissipation due to the damage across the front of reflective tensile wave are analyzed. The effects of impact velocity and the geometrical parameters of particles on the energy dissipation are numerically discussed.
