We report on the observation of jetlike visible emission from molybdenum plasma, which is pumped by a high-intensity 2-ps-duration Nd : phosphate glass laser pulse. These jets are found to extend over an unusually long length of several millimeters. The structure appears only at longitudinal pump intensities between 5x1014 W/cm2 and 7.5x1014 W/cm2, and the temporal duration of the jetlike emission is measured to be 500 ns.
