Abstract
The authors deal with the study of the acoustic scattering at oblique incidence, by infinite cylindrical elastic shells immersed in water. In particular, the study is focalized upon the detection of the Scholte-Stoneley waves reemission, by means of the isolation of the associated resonances, and the evolution of their frequencies versus the angle of incidence. The experiment are performed, involving the quasi-harmonic M.I.R. (Method of Isolation of Resonances). For each value of the angle of incidence (varying from O* to 4 0 ' ) ' the Scholte-Stoneley resonance frequencies are pointed out on the so obtained resonance spectra. The follow-up of the frequencies versus the incidence angle is performed and compared with the theoretical one. A good agreement is observed between them.
