COLLISIONAL RELAXATION OF XeF MOLECULES AND XeF LASER SPECTRA

Abstract
The spectra of the short pumping electric discharge XeF laser are determined by the collisional relaxation in a B-state of the XeF molecule, the multi-quantum relaxations being substantial. The composition of the lasing spectrum may be essentially changed by the buffer gas pressure. The lasing from high rotational levels is sensitive to the concentration of xenon.
